MADISON PEOPLE'S CLIMATE MARCH

JOBS, JUSTICE & CLIMATE
Under the current state and federal governments, leadership on climate justice; worker's rights; and justice for tribes, communities of color, immigrants and LGBTQ+ folks are unlikely. So the future we want to see is up to us. And that's why we march.

The Madison Climate March is calling for strong local leadership, for jobs that are healthy for the planet and for communities, and for solutions to the climate crisis that are rooted in racial, social and economic justice.

Join us on April 22nd at 2:00pm, starting at the Capitol Square and ending at our local utility Madison Gas and Electric (MGE).

In our community, MGE is one of the largest contributors to climate change with 88% of the electricity they provide coming from fossil fuels (68% coal, 20% gas). But it also has the potential to be a clean energy leader -- not just for Madison, but for our state and our region.

We are calling on MGE to be an ally with us as we all work toward a future that values jobs, justice and the climate. MGE has made some steps in the right direction, but we know that together we can do so much more.
